Het programma besteedt ruim aandacht aan de stand van het natuurijs en berichtgeving over een eventuele Elfstedentocht en bevat gesprekken met studiogasten, reportages, ingezonden foto&#039;s en ervaringen van kijkers. Onder in beeld verschijnt een ticker met daarop onder andere weer- en verkeersberichten.<br /> <br /> ===Achtergrondinformatie===<br /> <br /> Na een zeer zachte winter wordt Nederland begin februari 2012 plotseling overvallen door een koudegolf. Rivieren en grachten vriezen dicht en de hoop op een Elfstedentocht groeit. De vraag of de tocht der tochten door zal gaan houdt Nederland in zijn greep en de EO springt daar snel en handig op in met dit gezellige, oer-Hollandse wintermagazine.
